Process Designer

Process Designer / Process Modeler Process modeling is an important requirement of Business Process Management. BPM Server includes a powerful and easy to use graphical component called the “Process Designer” that makes it easy for developers and business analysts to collaborate on design of business processes.
  • Visually model, create, update and maintain electronic workflow processes that automate and enhance existing business systems and processes.
  • A simple to use, drag and drop interface for business managers to quickly create a process, document business rules and optimize execution.
  • The ability to allow IT users to take these processes and directly implement them for execution by creating and populating each service task in the process flow.
  • The ability to create enhanced integration when necessary, with easy to define programming or scripting.
  • BPMN standards based notation for flows.
Process Engine

BPM Server includes a powerful, full-featured orchestration engine for automated process execution.
  • Support for decision nodes, sub-processes, exception handling, forks and joins and loops allows execution of process flows of almost any complexity.
  • Offers enterprise-class features like failure recovery and clustering for reliability and high performance.
  • Supports the concept of transactional execution using Java Transaction API (JTA).
  • Supports “long-running” process flows to support situations where certain processes may take a long time to complete because they have extended wait states while waiting for human workflow tasks to be completed by business users.
  • Directly executes the PF XML that is generated by the Process Designer.
  • Typically a real-time event triggers the process flow. When a process flow is triggered the Process Engine takes over to execute the process flow.
Human Workflow

Human Workflow Activity For any Business Process Management solution to be complete, it must support human workflow. Business users need to interact with process flows to view data, review documents, manage exceptions and make decisions. BPM Server’s Human Workflow Service offers full support for human workflow and task management.
  • Task Manager for every business users so they can easily view, track and manage their workflow tasks.
  • Automatic notification of tasks by email and on the task manager.
  • Fully web-browser based interface for users to manage and complete their tasks. These actions may include manual intervention to resolve exceptions, review of business data to make decisions, and download/upload of documents.
  • Document Management: Workflow service allows business users to download and upload files from any WebDAV enabled document repository or content management system.
  • Workflow tasks can be assigned to individual users or “roles”.
  • Business users can manage their profiles and availability calendars.
  • Workflow tasks can be reassigned by managers or automatically escalated.
  • Workflow task Due and Expiry dates allow management and reminders of delayed or missed tasks.
  • Workflow activities are included in the process flow where a business user is required to take some action or to view some process related information and make decisions.
  • During the execution of the process flow, when a workflow activity is encountered, a task is assigned to the user and an email notification is sent.
Business Activity Monitoring

As a comprehensive Business Process Management solution, Adeptia BPM Server offers compelling reporting and dashboard capability. This allows code-free, wizard driven design of dashboard views to enable real-time view of business metrics in a self-updating dashboard as well as user designed reports. Adeptia BPM Server Dashboard provides
  • Various charts to give easy access to analysis that is actionable and contextual—which means it is specific and targeted—to the process owners.
  • Ability for line-of-business managers to track and measure performance based on real-time monitoring, giving them real insight into an organization and its operations.
  • Users can make informed decisions because they are presented with issues that need to be addressed, as well as with the context so they can take the right action.
  • Forecasting is made possible through ongoing statistical data capture, and reporting functions ensure real-time and predictive information is available and can be leveraged directly within the goal-management
WebDAV support

Web DAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol which allows users to collaboratively edit and manage files on remote web servers. BPM Server supports
  • Transporting data to and from WebDAV enabled document repository system and content management systems
  • This is well integrated with BPM Server process flow to create a document management workflow solution along with BMP Server Human interaction service
Business Process Execution Language (BPEL)

Web Services make it easier to establish connections between systems and people, but to achieve their full value it is important to make Web Services a part of business processes. BPEL is a standard to compose web services as a business process that span the entire organization and extended enterprise. Adeptia BPM server provides support for BPEL. Any process flow defined in BPEL can be imported and executed in the BPM Server.
